Sulforaphane, or SFN for short, is an isothiocyanate. The molecular formula is C6H11NOS2. It is rich in cruciferous plants such as broccoli, kale, and northern round carrots.

It is obtained by hydrolyzing glucosinolates (Glucosinolates) by myrosinase in plants. Broccoli are particularly rich in glucoraphanin. Glucoraphanin, also known as 4-Methylsulfinyl butyl glucoside, belongs to aliphatic glucosinolate, and its degradation product is sulforaphane.
