Resveratrol is extracted from dried rhizome of reynoutria japonica, which is also known as polygonum cuspidatum or japanese knotweed. Resveratrol is off-white (50%) to white powder (98%), soluble in ethanol (50 mg/mL), DMSO (16 mg/mL), and other organic solvents, hardly soluble in water (3 mg/ 100mL).
