Product Description

Food Grade Healthcare Raw Material NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine Powder CAS 616-91-1

N-Acetyl Cysteine Powder (NAC), an organic compound with chemical formula C5H9NO3S, is mainly used as a mucinolytic agent and has a strong ability to dissolve phlegm. The sulfhydryl group contained in its molecule can break the disulfide bond in the polypeptide chain of glycoprotein in sputum, thus reducing the viscosity of sputum and making sputum liquefied and easy to cough. It can also break DNA fibers in purulent sputum, so it can dissolve not only white mucous sputum, but also purulent sputum.

For patients with general expectorant failure, the use of this product can still be effective.

Benefits of N-Acetyl Cysteine Powder

1. Improve respiratory function: NAC can stimulate alveolar epithelial type Ⅱ cells to secrete and form surfactant, which makes alveoli expand effectively and increase the area of gas exchange. It protects alveolar elasticity by activating antiprotease and inhibiting the destruction of alveolar elastase released by polymorphonuclear neutrophils.

2. Antioxidation: free radicals derived from oxidation play an important role in the pathophysiology of the lungs. Smoking or endogenous substances released from inflammatory cells (neutrophils or megalophils) can lead to the increase of free radicals. Free radicals play a role in promoting the development of emphysema by affecting the balance between elastase and antielastase. One of the main antioxidant systems is glutathione (GSH) redox cycle and increased antioxidant protection.

3. Enhance the immune function of the body: NAC can inhibit virus replication, stimulate T-lymphocyte replication response, increase the number and activity of T-lymphocyte subsets, increase the adhesion and phagocytosis of macrophages, protect cells from related damage caused by virus infection, thus play a role in preventing and reducing respiratory tract infection.

4. Reduce the number of bacteria in the airway: the increase in the deterioration rate of patients with chronic bronchitis may be related to changes in the type of bronchial flora or immune deficiency.
